Hello church family and happy May!
The sun is finally shining- hooray!
We’ve been having a great time in Faith Formation. In April, we learned that after Jesus rose from the grave, he appeared to the disciples and shared the greeting “Peace be with you.” We had some interesting and thought provoking conversations about what it must have been like to see Jesus alive after he had died! We also learned that Jesus is the good shepherd- Jesus cares for us like a shepherd cares for their sheep. Finally, we learned about one of my favorite Bible verses, 1 John 4:7-8, which teaches us to love one another as God loves us. This month, we will think about how we have witnessed Jesus in our own lives and that we can share that with others. Then, on Pentecost Sunday, we will learn about Pentecost, the day when God’s Holy Spirit came to Jesus’ disciples and that it’s the day we celebrate the birthday of the Christian church.
This is the last month of Faith Formation classes for this school year. I hope to see lots of our children and youth! Our 6th-12th graders just have one more class for this school year, May 12th. Our PreK-5th graders have just two more classes, May 12th and 19th.
Please be sure to check out the calendar for upcoming events. I hope to see you soon!
Much love and many blessings,
Rachel Burns
