Fall 2024
by: Rachel Burns

Hello church family!

Welcome to a new year of Faith Formation classes and activities for our children and youth!

This fall, our young people will learn about Jesus welcoming youth, praying for one another, and more.

PreK-5th grade will once again be using a curriculum called Whirl Lectionary. We will learn a new Bible story each week through activities, music, and watching video adventures of the Whirl kids. Whirl Lectionary follows the Revised Common Lectionary which we use for worship at LCC. PreK-5th graders should all be checked in by a grown up at the chapel prior to 10am worship and picked up in the chapel after worship (unless released to self on the registration form). Being part of the church worship service is still a valued part of our ministry at LCC and we encourage families to attend Worship for All Ages on the 1st Sunday of each month as well as the Sundays when we don’t have Faith Formation.

Youth Faith Formation (6th-8th grade Middle School, 9th-12th grade High School) will continue using a curriculum that uses video, activities and discussions called Re:Form. Youth classes will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and will begin after the anthem during the worship service. There is no check in or out system for 6th grade and up. Youth classes will meet in the youth room and classroom on the social hall (lower) level.

More information about Faith Formation and events for young people and families (including the Christmas pageant!) will be available in the weekly emails, the Facebook group (Lakewood Congregational Church Children & Youth), and at church. Also, please be sure that you are signed up for the Remind notifications.

Please take the time to register infants through 12th graders for Faith Formation using the link or QR code below. Thank you!

Please reach out with any questions or just to chat!

Much love and many blessings,
