The Work of Christmas
When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among brothers,
To make music in the heart.
As we enter this season of Epiphany and begin to follow our Star, the theologian and mystic Howard Thurman has challenged us to live Christmas each day throughout the year. We are blessed at LCC with vibrant, caring members who serve multiple ways within our congregation. This year we will continue to endeavor to expand opportunities to grow together as followers of Jesus the Christ.
Our Adult Faith Formation team will meet on Tuesday, January 16, at 6:30PM to discuss Lenten programming and opportunities to continue to grow in faith. We look forward to your presence, input and support.
May the light that led the shepherds and wisemen continue to guide us as we journey into this New Year in faith, love and care for one another, our community, and wider world.
Blessings, grace and peace,
Rev. Catherine
