Living Into Easter
Filled once again with your unruly Spirit, may we answer your summons and be part of the movement of life. Amen
Walter Brueggemann, Devotions for Lent,
A Way Other Than Our Own (pg 95)
Easter Sunday begins the fifty-day journey to Pentecost as we ponder what directions our lives take as followers of the Risen Christ. How are we being called to embrace the loving principles that Christ taught the disciples? How do we navigate the call to grow spiritually as we live in the midst of daily challenges, responsibilities, and life stressors?
We join as a church family to take one step at a time, finding joy and gratitude that shines into special moments of our lives each day. We seek ways to love, care, nurture, and support others.
As the Spring weather hopefully begins to blossom with bold colors, our journey to Give, Gather, and Grow will flourish- with the revitalizing of the social hall and West Clifton Entrance. This campaign will invite everyone to participate in the life of the church and increase opportunities for the ministries that are growing from within our commitment to community.
We offer deep gratitude to Karen Wagner for preparing and presenting her Lenten Series “River of Grace.” The course presented opportunities for us to reflect, ponder, and learn new listening and communication skills as we grow in faith and nurture our relationship with others.
We give thanks that Beth Abbott and Sandie King have prepared a “four-week interactive workshop that invites participants to engage in creative expression, reflective writing and sharing in community designed to deepen our awareness of our own paths to spiritual and aging.” The course will be on Tuesdays, April 16, 23, 30, and May 7, from 6:30PM- 8:00PM in the parlor. I look forward to this learning opportunity during this Easter Season.
Adult Faith Formation Team, please mark your calendars to attend our meeting on Monday, April 22nd at 6:30 in the Library. We will reflect upon the impact of our Lenten Activities, and our current and future program ideas.
As we journey toward Pentecost, may each morning light shine upon you in gratitude, grace, peace and love.
Blessings, grace and peace,
Rev. Catherine
