Hello church family!

We had a wonderful Lenten season together as we journeyed with Peter toward Easter. On Easter Sunday in worship, we celebrated that Christ has risen and then had a really fun Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn. Thank you, middle and high schoolers, for preparing the eggs on Palm Sunday and hiding them early on Easter Sunday!

This month, we are jumping right into tech week and then performances of our 53rd youth theater production, Godspell! I hope you were able to be in worship on Palm Sunday to hear our cast be joined by LCC Godspell alumni. If not, please check out the livestream. It was such a meaningful experience to see into the history of youth theater at LCC and the impact that it has had on so many people. I love that Godspell has been and will continue to be an experience that all of our kids have the opportunity to participate in. I’ve come to understand Jesus and my faith in new ways while working on this production and I don’t think I’m alone. I hope you’ll come see our spectacular cast. Whether it will be your first time seeing this show or you’ve seen it more times than you can count, maybe you will understand Jesus and your faith in new ways, too.

Spring is upon us but summer is just around the corner. Please be sure to look into our summer trips for children and youth. There are many options for church camp for all young people. For our middle and high schoolers, we will have a mission trip and also the opportunity to attend the Great Lakes & West Central Regional Youth Event with hundreds of other UCC youth. Please register for the mission trip and/or the Regional Youth Event by the end of this month – or reach out to me with any questions. Vacation Bible School will be in August, and we will also be having Playtime at the Park gatherings again this year for families! It’s going to be a great summer!

Much love and many blessings,
Rachel Burns
