Happy Sunday, Church!! Remember it’s a Communion Sunday!!

We will be partaking in Communion during our worship service today. I was so blessed to have my children participate with me when I filmed it. I love their little faith. I do hope that you are keeping up with the church in the best ways you can. I know how easy it is to fall out of the habit of watching the videos and reading the reflections, but it is really an important time to keep ourselves centered on God’s work in our lives. We can, and really I think we must, use this opportunity to grow our faith in new ways.

Just a heads up– Rachel and I are both on vacation this week. Things at church will be slow in general, as Karen Lee is also preparing to take her daughter back to college this coming weekend, and we’ll be away. Plus, we are really waiting to receive as many survey results as possible so that we can evaluate them and discern how to move forward.

Meanwhile, we are super excited about the worship service for August 9th, which reflects on our Compassion Camp/Virtual Vacation Bible School experience. I already recorded the sermon for it, and have a few sneak peeks at other really exciting elements! Can’t wait to share it.

If you have not filled out the remote church survey, please do so!

You can find the survey here as a link inside this letter. We would really like you to read the letter before filling it out. Thank you!

Here is the Worship Service for this Sunday…

Bulletin for this week: Home Worship Bulletin and Sermon Transcript

Breathing the Gospel Reflections from Karen Wagner. Our reflections have been exploring Parker Palmer’s book Healing the Heart of Democracy. It is a very timely book for right now. If you missed the previous weeks, you may find the information on LCC’s website under the blog tab, in the weekly reflections. Please purchase this book or borrow it from the library. This week, we are learning about the Fourth Habit of the Heart: A Sense of Voice and Agency. Breathing in the Realm of God.

Here’s Our Family Faith Formation Video!

Our kids had so much fun with Compassion Camp! They are looking forward to sharing a couple of remote songs with us on Virtch on August 9th. In addition to the video posted here, the kids have also been doing Yoga videos and craft project videos with Ms. Jacqueline and a weekly Zoom meeting together. Rachel put all the videos into a Youtube playlist if you’d like to watch them all… no matter how old you are! Here is the playlist link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdz6IQJU6xzRSBWwhEzdCmS5E99-dO1Jn

This week’s Faith Formation video calls for a little activity sheet that you can find here: https://lcc-church.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Fishes-Loaves-Craft-Template.pdf
