Our music ministry is a vibrant and welcoming part of church life, offering opportunities for all ages and skill levels to participate and grow. From the rich harmonies of our Chancel Choir and the joyful ringing of our Handbell Choir to music woven into children and youth faith formation classes, there is something for everyone. We also celebrate special music shared by members of our congregation, welcome the gifts of professional musicians from beyond our church community, and highlight the creativity of our young people through an annual youth musical. Whether you are an experienced musician or just beginning, all of our groups are open to anyone who feels called to join and make a joyful noise.
Handbell Choir
Our Handbell Choir rehearses each Thursday evening from 6:45 to 7:45, working to create music that enhances the worship experience for both ringers and listeners. The ensemble typically performs about every six weeks, offering members a meaningful opportunity to share their talents and be part of something special. Whether you’re an experienced ringer or completely new to handbells, you are warmly invited to join—no prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn and a love of music.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is a welcoming community of adult singers who enrich worship through a diverse and inspiring range of musical styles. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 8:00 to 9:15 pm, with additional warm-up time on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am before leading music in worship. The choir sings regularly each Sunday from September through May and also prepares special music for services such as Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday. This group is open to everyone, from experienced vocalists to those simply eager to sing. The Chancel Choir embraces a spirit of inclusivity and flexibility, inviting both those who can commit weekly and those who wish to participate more occasionally.
Special Music
We regularly invite members and friends of LCC to share special music during our worship services. There are no strict guidelines for style, genre, or instrumentation—just music that is appropriate for all ages. We welcome pieces that inspire, challenge, and encourage us to reflect from new perspectives. Special music doesn’t have to be religious, and all genres are appreciated. We include special music as the prelude, offertory, or postlude; during communion time; or at any other point in the service that makes sense for that particular worship service and/or song.
